Use of personal data when selecting Klarna as a payment method

If you choose Klarna's payment services, Klarna Invoice and/or Klarna Installment Purchase, as your payment option, you consent to our collection and transmission to Klarna of the following personal data necessary for processing the invoice purchase and for identity and credit checks: first and last name, address, date of birth, gender, email address, IP address, telephone number, as well as the data necessary for processing the invoice purchase that are related to the order, such as the number of items, item number, invoice amount, and tax percentages. The data processing is for the purpose of offering the payment options of invoice and installment purchase, as well as the required credit check. Processing is carried out on the basis of Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR with your consent. You may revoke your consent at any time by notifying us, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out on the basis of consent before its withdrawal.

This data is transmitted so that Klarna can generate an invoice and conduct an identity and credit check to process your purchase using the invoice method you selected. Klarna requires the buyer's personal data to obtain information from credit agencies for the purpose of identity and credit checks. In Germany, these credit agencies may include the following:

- Schufa Holding AG, Kormoranweg 5, 65203 Wiesbaden

- Bürgel Wirtschaftsinformationen GmbH & Co. KG, P.O. Box 5001 66, 22701 Hamburg

- Creditreform Bremen Seddig KG, Contrescarpe 17, 28203 Bremen

- infoscore Consumer Data GmbH, Rheinstraße 99, 76532 Baden-Baden.

As part of the decision to establish, carry out, or terminate the contractual relationship, Klarna, in addition to address verification, also collects and uses information about the buyer’s previous payment behavior as well as probability values for future behavior. Klarna calculates these score values using a scientifically recognized mathematical-statistical process. Klarna will also use your address data for this purpose. If this calculation shows that you lack creditworthiness, Klarna will inform you immediately.

Revocation of the use of personal data with regard to Klarna

1. You may revoke your consent to the use of personal data by Klarna at any time. However, Klarna may still be entitled to process, use, and transmit personal data if this is necessary for contractual payment processing via Klarna’s services, is required by law, or is requested by a court or authority.

2. Of course, you may request information about the personal data stored by Klarna at any time. This right is guaranteed by the German Federal Data Protection Act. If you, as a buyer, wish to do so or if you wish to notify Klarna of changes regarding the stored data, you can contact datenschutz@klarna.de.

Analytics and Ad Tracking

Use of Google Analytics

We use the web analytics service Google Analytics on our website, provided by Google LLC (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA; "Google"). If your habitual residence is in the European Economic Area or Switzerland, Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland) is responsible for your data. Google Ireland Limited is the affiliated company of Google responsible for processing your data and complying with applicable data protection laws.

Data processing is carried out for the purpose of analyzing this website and its visitors, as well as for marketing and advertising purposes. For this purpose, Google will use the information obtained on behalf of the operator of this website to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activity, and to provide other services related to website and Internet usage to the website operator. The following information may be collected, among others: IP address, date and time of page access, click path, information about your browser and device, pages visited, referrer URL (the website from which you accessed our website), location data, purchase activities. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be merged with other Google data.

Google Analytics uses technologies such as cookies, browser web storage, and tracking pixels to analyze your use of the website. The information generated about your use of this website is usually transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. IP anonymization is activated on this website. This means your IP address will be shortened by Google within member states of the European Union or in other contracting states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area before being transmitted. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there.

The use of cookies or similar technologies is based on Section 15 (3) sentence 1 of the German Telemedia Act (TMG). The processing of your personal data is based on Article 6 (1) (f) of the GDPR, due to our overriding legitimate interest in the needs-based and targeted design of the website. You have the right to object at any time, for reasons arising from your particular situation, to the processing of your personal data concerning you.

You can prevent Google from collecting and processing data generated by Google Analytics and related to your use of the website (including your IP address) by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available at the following link: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de

To prevent data collection and storage by Google Analytics across devices, you can set an opt-out cookie. Opt-out cookies prevent your data from being collected in the future when you visit this website. You need to opt out on all systems and devices you use for this to be fully effective. If you delete the opt-out cookie, data will once again be sent to Google. Click here to set the opt-out cookie: Disable Google Analytics.

Use of Facebook Pixel

We use the remarketing feature 'Custom Audiences' from Facebook Ireland Limited (4 Grand Canal Square, Grand Canal Harbour, Dublin 2, Ireland, "Facebook") on our website.

Facebook Ireland and we are joint controllers for the collection of your data and its transmission to Facebook when the service is integrated. This is based on an agreement between us and Facebook Ireland regarding the joint processing of personal data, which specifies each party’s responsibilities. The agreement can be accessed at https://www.facebook.com/legal/controller_addendum. Under this agreement, we are particularly responsible for fulfilling the information obligations under Articles 13 and 14 of the GDPR, complying with the security requirements of Article 32 of the GDPR with regard to the correct technical implementation and configuration of the service, and meeting the obligations under Articles 33 and 34 of the GDPR insofar as a personal data breach affects our obligations under the joint processing agreement. Facebook Ireland is responsible for enabling data subject rights under Articles 15-20 of the GDPR, complying with the security requirements of Article 32 of the GDPR regarding the security of the service, and meeting the obligations under Articles 33 and 34 of the GDPR insofar as a personal data breach affects Facebook Ireland’s obligations under the joint processing agreement.

This feature is intended to target visitors to the website with interest-based advertising on the Facebook social network. For this purpose, the Facebook remarketing tag has been implemented on our website. When you visit the website, this tag establishes a direct connection to Facebook’s servers. This informs the Facebook server which of our pages you have visited. Facebook then associates this information with your personal Facebook user account. When you visit Facebook, you will be shown personalized, interest-based Facebook ads.

Your data may be transferred to the USA.

The use of cookies or similar technologies is based on Section 15 (3) sentence 1 of the German Telemedia Act (TMG). The processing of your personal data is based on Article 6 (1) (f) of the GDPR, stemming from our overriding legitimate interest in targeting visitors with interest-based advertising. You have the right to object at any time, for reasons arising from your particular situation, to the processing of your personal data concerning you. You can disable the 'Custom Audiences' remarketing feature here.

For more information on how Facebook collects and uses data, your rights in this regard, and options for protecting your privacy, please see Facebook’s privacy policy at https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy/.

Use of Google Ads Conversion Tracking

We use the online advertising program 'Google Ads' on our website, including conversion tracking (visitor action analysis). Google Conversion Tracking is an analytics service provided by Google LLC (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA; "Google"). If your habitual residence is in the European Economic Area or Switzerland, Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland) is responsible for your data. Google Ireland Limited is thus the affiliated company responsible for processing your data and complying with applicable data protection laws.

When you click on an ad placed by Google, a cookie for conversion tracking is set on your computer. These cookies are valid for a limited time, do not contain any personal data, and therefore cannot be used for personal identification. If you visit certain pages on our website and the cookie has not yet expired, Google and we can recognize that you clicked on the ad and were redirected to that page. Each Google Ads customer receives a different cookie. This means that cookies cannot be tracked across the websites of Ads customers.

The information obtained using the conversion cookie is used to create conversion statistics. This allows us to know the total number of users who clicked on one of our ads and were redirected to a page tagged for conversion tracking. However, we do not receive any information that can personally identify users.

Your data may be transferred to the USA.

The use of cookies or similar technologies is based on Section 15 (3) sentence 1 of the German Telemedia Act (TMG). The processing of your personal data is based on Article 6 (1) (f) of the GDPR, due to our overriding legitimate interest in targeting website visitors with interest-based advertising. You have the right to object at any time to the processing of your personal data for reasons arising from your particular situation.

You can disable personalized advertising for you in your Google ad settings. Instructions can be found at https://support.google.com/ads/answer/2662922?hl=en

Alternatively, you can prevent the use of cookies by third parties by visiting the Network Advertising Initiative's opt-out page at https://www.networkadvertising.org/choices/ and following the opt-out instructions provided there. You will then not be included in conversion tracking statistics.

Use of Google AdSense

We use the AdSense feature of Google LLC (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA; “Google”) on our website. If your usual place of residence is in the European Economic Area or Switzerland, Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland) is the data controller responsible for your data. Google Ireland Limited is therefore the affiliated company of Google responsible for processing your data and complying with applicable data protection laws. The data processing serves the purpose of leasing advertising space on the website and targeting visitors of the website with interest-based advertising. Through this feature, visitors to the provider’s website are shown personalized, interest-based ads from the Google Display Network. Google uses cookies, which allow your use of the website to be analyzed. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is generally transmitted to and stored on a Google server in the USA. Google may transfer this information to third parties if required by law or if third parties process this data on behalf of Google. Under no circumstances will Google associate your IP address with other data from Google.

Use of Google Remarketing or “Similar Audiences” Feature

We use the Remarketing or “Similar Audiences” feature from Google LLC (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA; “Google”) on our website.

This application serves the purpose of analyzing visitor behavior and interests. To conduct the analysis of website usage, which forms the basis for creating interest-based ads, Google uses cookies. These cookies collect visits to the website as well as anonymized data about website usage. No personal data of website visitors is stored. If you subsequently visit another website in the Google Display Network, you may be shown ads that are highly likely to take into account previously viewed product and information areas.

Plug-ins and Other Features

Use of Social Plug-ins via “Shariff”

We use social network plug-ins on our website. To ensure you retain control over your data, we use the privacy-safe “Shariff” buttons.

No connection to the servers of the social networks is established, and consequently no data is transmitted, without your explicit consent.

“Shariff” is a development by the specialists at the computer magazine c’t. It enables greater privacy online and replaces the usual “Share” buttons of social networks. More information about the Shariff project can be found here: https://www.heise.de/ct/artikel/Shariff-Social-Media-Buttons-mit-Datenschutz-2467514.html.

When you click the buttons, a pop-up window appears where you can log in with your data to the respective provider. Only after you actively log in will a direct connection to the social networks be established.

By logging in, you consent to your data being transmitted to the respective social media provider. This includes, among other things, your IP address and information about which of our pages you have visited. If you are simultaneously connected to one or more of your social network accounts, the collected information will also be linked to your corresponding profiles. You can only prevent this association by logging out of your social media accounts before visiting our website and before activating the buttons. The social networks listed below are integrated using the "Shariff" function.

For more information about the scope and purpose of data collection and use, as well as your rights and options for protecting your privacy, please refer to the linked privacy notices of the providers.

Facebook by Facebook Inc. (1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA) https://www.facebook.com/policy.php

Use of social plug-ins via the "2-click solution"

We use social network plug-ins on our website through the "2-click solution." No connections to the servers of social networks are established and no data is transmitted without your explicit consent.

With standard plug-in integration, when you access pages of our website containing such a plug-in, a link is established between your computer and the servers of the social network provider, and the plug-in is displayed on the page via notification to your browser. In this process, both your IP address and information about which of our pages you have visited are transmitted to the provider's servers. This applies regardless of whether you are registered or logged in to the social network. Data is transmitted even for users who are not registered or logged in. If you are also logged in to Facebook, this information is linked to your personal user account. When you use the plug-in functions (e.g., by clicking the button), this information is also linked to your user account, which you can only prevent by logging out before using the plug-in. To give you control over your data, we have chosen to initially deactivate the relevant button. You can recognize this by the grayed-out button. Without your explicit consent—in the form of activating the button—no connection to the social network's server is established, and thus no data is transmitted.

Only when you activate the button does it become active (highlighted in color) and a direct connection to the social network's servers is established.

By activating, you consent to your data being transmitted to the respective social network provider. This includes, among other things, your IP address and information about which of our pages you have visited. If you are simultaneously connected to one or more of your social network accounts, the collected information will also be linked to your corresponding profiles. You can only prevent this association by logging out of your social network user accounts before visiting our website and before activating the buttons.

The social networks listed below are integrated using the "2-click function." For more information about the scope and purpose of data collection and use, as well as your rights and options for protecting your privacy, please refer to the linked privacy notices of the providers.

Use of Google Maps

We use the Google Maps embedding function on our website provided by Google LLC (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA; “Google”).

If your habitual residence is in the European Economic Area or Switzerland, Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland) is the controller responsible for your data. Therefore, Google Ireland Limited is the Google-affiliated company responsible for processing your data and complying with applicable data protection laws.

This function enables the visual display of geographic information and interactive maps. When you access pages that include Google Maps, Google also collects, processes, and uses data about visitors to those websites.

Your data may also be transferred to the USA in this process.

For more information about how Google collects and uses data, please see Google's privacy policy at https://www.google.com/privacypolicy.html. In the Privacy Center there, you can also change your settings to manage and protect your data processed by Google.

Use of YouTube

We use the function for embedding YouTube videos on our website provided by Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland; “YouTube”). YouTube is a company affiliated with Google LLC (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA; “Google”).

The function displays videos stored on YouTube in an iFrame on the website. The "Enhanced Privacy Mode" option is enabled. This means that YouTube does not store any information about visitors to the website. Only when you watch a video will information about it be transmitted to and stored by YouTube. Your data may be transferred to the USA.

The use of cookies or similar technologies is based on Section 15 (3) sentence 1 of the German Telemedia Act (TMG). The processing of your personal data is based on Article 6 (1) (f) of the GDPR, due to our overriding legitimate interest in the needs-based and targeted design of the website. You have the right to object at any time, for reasons arising from your particular situation, to the processing of your personal data concerning you.

For more information about how YouTube and Google collect and use data, as well as your rights and options for protecting your privacy, please see YouTube’s privacy policy at https://www.youtube.com/t/privacy.

Use of Vimeo

We use plug-ins from Vimeo Inc. (555 West 18th Street New York, New York 10011, USA; "Vimeo") on our website to embed videos from the "Vimeo" platform.

When you visit pages of our website that include such a plug-in, a connection to Vimeo’s servers is established and the plug-in is displayed on the page via your browser. In doing so, your IP address and information about which of our pages you visited are transmitted to Vimeo’s servers.

If you are logged into Vimeo at the time, Vimeo will associate this information with your personal user account. When you use the plug-in features (e.g., by starting a video by clicking the corresponding button), this information will also be linked to your Vimeo account.

Your data may be transferred to the USA.

The use of cookies or similar technologies is based on Section 15 (3) sentence 1 of the German Telemedia Act (TMG). The processing of your personal data is based on Article 6 (1) (f) of the GDPR, reflecting our predominant legitimate interest in tailoring and optimizing our website, as well as Vimeo’s legitimate interest in market analysis and improving its services in a targeted manner. You have the right, for reasons arising from your particular situation, to object at any time to the processing of your personal data that concerns you.

If you do not want Vimeo to directly associate the collected information with your Vimeo account, you must log out of Vimeo before visiting our website.

For more information about the purpose and scope of data collection, as well as further use and processing of the data by Vimeo, and your rights and options for protecting your privacy, please refer to Vimeo’s privacy policy: https://vimeo.com/privacy
