Magnesium Glycinate Capsules

Four capsules daily with plenty of liquid. You can take them all at once or spread them throughout the day, either is fine. A meal is not required. Magnesium bisglycinate is considered especially gentle on the stomach, which is why it is usually well tolerated even on an empty stomach.

This is due to the chemistry of the raw material. In bisglycinate, each magnesium ion is bound to two molecules of the amino acid glycine. Glycine makes up most of the weight: 500 mg of magnesium bisglycinate contains only 70 mg of magnesium. So anyone who wants to reach a sensible daily amount needs several capsules. The calculation is different with citrate, but tolerance is different there too.

Elemental magnesium is the amount of pure mineral, without the partner to which it is bound. Pure magnesium cannot be taken in this form; it is always present as a compound, such as bisglycinate, citrate, or malate. The label should therefore show two figures: the amount of the compound and the amount of magnesium it contains. When comparing products, look at the second figure.

Wer die vier Kapseln aufteilt, etwa zwei morgens und zwei abends, verteilt die Menge gleichmäßiger über den Tag. Wichtiger als der Zeitpunkt ist, dass du überhaupt regelmäßig dabei bleibst.

Four capsules provide 280 mg of magnesium, which equals 75 percent of the nutrient reference value. There is also a whole range of approved claims: Magnesium contributes to reducing tiredness and fatigue, to normal muscle function, to normal functioning of the nervous system, to normal energy-yielding metabolism, to normal psychological function, and to the maintenance of normal bones and teeth.

In principle, yes. However, don’t combine multiple magnesium products—choose one. Larger amounts of magnesium and calcium or zinc compete for the same transport pathways in the intestines; a time gap of one to two hours is therefore advisable. If you take medication regularly, it’s best to check the combination with your doctor or pharmacist.

The bottle contains 180 capsules. At four capsules a day, it lasts 45 days, so just over a month and a half. It is packaged in amber glass, which blocks the UV portion of light and does not release anything into the contents. Store in a cool, dry place and close the bottle tightly again after taking out the contents.
