100% Fortigel®, nothing else

Kollagen Move by Vitalplant contains hydrolysed bovine collagen as Fortigel®. No second ingredient, no flavourings, no sweeteners.

What a branded raw material says

Fortigel® is a registered trademark for a specifically manufactured collagen peptide fraction. The difference from a generally declared collagen hydrolysate lies in the process: enzyme selection, temperature control, and process duration determine which peptide sizes are created when the collagen triple helix is broken down. A branded raw material defines this process and makes it reproducible from batch to batch.

We are deliberately not claiming what this does in the body. No health claim is approved in the EU for collagen peptides. What we can state is the raw material, its quantity, and the process behind it, and that is exactly what can be verified.

Move or Shine

In addition to Move, we offer Kollagen Shine with 100% VERISOL® and the plain Collagen Powder without brand specification.

Move and Shine differ neither in the serving size nor in the source animal. Both are hydrolysed bovine collagen, and both provide five grams per scoop. The only difference lies in the hydrolysis process and thus in the peptide profile. Which one is right depends on your preference for the respective branded raw material.

Use and quality

The powder is flavourless and dissolves in both cold and hot drinks without gelling. Stirred into coffee, it leaves the aroma unchanged.

Collagen comes from cattle and is therefore neither vegan nor vegetarian. Filled in a resealable stand-up pouch, store in a cool, dry place and do not freeze.

The most common protein in the body

In mammals, collagen makes up around a third of the total protein content, making it by far the most abundant protein in quantitative terms. It is a structural protein: it does not rebuild anything or transport anything, but instead gives tissues their shape and tensile strength.

Its structure is unusually regular. Three protein strands wind into a triple helix, and each strand repeats a three-step pattern in which glycine appears at every third position. This is not a quirk of nature, but a geometric necessity: only glycine, the smallest of all amino acids, fits into the tight center of the helix. That is also where the high glycine content of around one third comes from.

Hydroxyproline is also characteristic. It occurs in significant amounts almost exclusively in collagen and is therefore used in food analysis as proof of its presence.

From raw material to powder

The process takes place in several stages. The collagen-containing starting material is first cleaned and pretreated, which loosens the triple helix. The collagen is then extracted by heat; at this stage, gelatin is formed, which still gels.

Only the next step turns it into a collagen hydrolysate: enzymes break down the long chains into short peptides. It is then filtered, concentrated, and spray-dried. Gelatin and collagen peptides therefore come from the same raw material and differ only by this one processing step. That is exactly why our powder dissolves in coffee instead of forming threads.

What the hydrolysis process determines

How short the peptides turn out is not a fixed value, but a question of process control. Which enzymes are used, at what temperature, and for how long they work determines the distribution of molecular sizes in the finished powder.

That is exactly what a registered branded raw material such as Fortigel defines. The advantage lies in reproducibility: every batch goes through the same defined process, while a generically labeled collagen hydrolysate can vary greatly depending on the manufacturer. A brand name says no more than that, and no less.

Why there is no plant-based collagen

Collagen is an animal structural protein. Plants do not produce this type of protein; their strength comes from cellulose and lignin, which belong to completely different classes of substances. Products advertised as vegan collagen therefore contain no collagen, but usually nutrients that are involved in the body's own collagen metabolism.

Our Collagen Move Powder is manufactured to the highest quality standards and independently tested for heavy metals.

Take 5 g daily, or one scoop, and stir into 150 ml of your choice of liquid. Water, coffee, or juice all work equally well. The powder is flavorless and dissolves without leaving any residue.

The powder is 90 g protein per 100 g, so a 5 g serving provides 4.5 g. Carbohydrates and fat are listed as 0 g, as is sugar. The energy value is 76.5 kJ, or 18 kcal per serving.

Because it is hydrolyzed. Intact collagen forms the familiar gel structure known from cooled broth or gelatin. Through enzymatic breakdown into short peptides, this property is lost, and that is exactly what makes the powder suitable for everyday use: It dissolves in both cold and hot drinks and does not swell afterward.

No. Collagen comes from cattle and is therefore neither vegan nor vegetarian. There is no plant-based collagen, because plants do not produce this type of protein. The ingredient list has exactly one entry: hydrolyzed bovine collagen as Fortigel.

Yes, there are no overlaps with vitamin or mineral products. You should only avoid taking our other two collagen products at the same time; instead, choose one. If you already use protein powder, you should know that collagen has a different amino acid profile than whey or plant protein.

The pouch contains 300 g and lasts 60 servings at 5 g per day, so two months. Packed in a resealable stand-up pouch. Store in a cool, dry place, do not freeze, and reseal well after each use.
